Australian Aid: Friendship Grant

ICLEI Oceania has been awarded an Australian Aid Friendship grant for a project titled “Building climate change and disaster resilience leadership in the Solomon Islands”.  This will enable ICLEI to build on the earlier disaster resilience action planning exercise with Honiara City.  The grant will be used to provide consultation and training to Honiara City’s newly elected ward councillors to build stronger links between the City and local community leaders and groups to strengthen disaster preparedness, response and recovery.  This first grant is for 2019 and further grants may be awarded depending on the outcomes achieved in Year 1.
